[Meet Me]

I am a Jesus-loving, book-reading, coffee-consuming, intentional Mama who likes to keep things simple.

Here's my best friend.  I'm fortunate that he is also my husband and the daddy of our three girls.  (Not the best picture, but it turns out that he doesn't pose for many pictures.  And this is a true glimpse of the man.)

We have three beautiful girls here on earth and two babies who we will get to meet in Heaven someday.

We live on a little farm in the Upper Midwest U.S.  We have seventeen cows, ten chickens, one dog, and an unknown number of cats.

I'm a firstborn and fit nearly all the characteristics typically exhibited by firsts.  Independent.  Leader.  Perfectionist.  Over-responsible.  Reliable.

My husband is a middle child and is also a poster-child for the prescribed characteristics.  Understanding.  Cooperative.  Flexible.  Loyal.

I love to cook and hate to clean up.  (And I'm a very messy cook!)

I put in a big garden because I love having a well-stocked pantry and not because I like to work in the dirt.

I'm a lover of seasons.  Mostly, the next season.

I used to think I would never shop at garage sales, but now I get jump-up-and-down excited for garage sale season to start in the spring!

We chose homeschooling because - in a nutshell - God has called us to it.  You can read more here.

I usually push things right up to the deadline before doing them.  I wouldn't exactly call myself a procrastinator...ok, maybe I would.

I hate schedules and have given up any hope of ever sticking to one.  Some days my kids get naps.  Some days they don't.  I do need some structure and love to plan everything thoroughly, though.  I'm an early-to-bed-early-to-rise type of gal.

I love my extended family.  Family events are a top priority.

I communicate much better with written words than with spoken ones.  When I'm talking, I never get out exactly what I wanted to say in the way I wanted to say it.  Unfortunately, I try the talking method far too often.

This blog is just a glimpse of our journey - mostly, it's a digital diary.  I want our kids to be able to look back at it someday and see real life through the years.

If you are new to this blog, I would love to get to know you.  Leave a comment and tell me about yourself and where you leave your mark online!
