Kyla's First Day of Preschool!

Day 1 of God's Little Explorers was lots of fun!  Kyla was rather sad when school was over for the day.  She wanted to keep doing school!

We started out with Circle Time.  We sang "The B-I-B-L-E," which Kyla sings as the "B-L-E-L-E."  Maybe by the end of the year, we'll get that figured out.  We talked about the Bible being the greatest treasure, and Kyla opened a Bible that I had wrapped in wrapping paper.  We went over the day of the week, the month of the year, and the weather.  We watched a YouTube on the months of the year.  We said the Pledge of Allegiance and prayed.  Then we sang our song of the week, "Wonderful Words of Life."

Next, I was time to go outside to do our treasure hunt.  Earlier, I had gone out and hid most of our school supplies and marked all the places with an "x."  As mentioned earlier, "x" is our letter of the week.  Kyla had a blast doing the treasure hunt, which took us all over the yard.  The new kitties joyfully tagged along.

After that, we came inside and made a spyglass.  Kyla decorated it with markers and then got bored and proceeded to decorate her hands...with permanent markers.

Next, Kyla practiced writing x's with her colored rice on top of black paper.  After she'd done that for a short while, she commenced to making roads and deciding which pieces of rice were cars.

Later the girls got to watch and dance along to "Shake Your Sillies Out" on YouTube.  (What would I do without YouTube?")

After lunch, I read some more from My Father's Dragon while the girls colored.
