Kamryn and the Banana

A couple days ago at lunch, I gave Kamryn half of a banana.  She took a couple bites and said she didn't want to eat it.  I informed her she needed to eat it before she got down from the table.  She insisted she did not want to eat it.

So I let her sit.

And sit.

And sit.

(There was a diaper change in there somewhere.)

She pushed her plate away and put her feet on the table.  Whatever.

Finally, about 5:30 (5 hours after we'd sat down for lunch), she fell asleep.  Daddy came home at 6 to find his 2-year-old snoring away in her booster seat at the table.  He was astounded to find out she'd been sitting there since lunch.

To quote my sister, "That girl is going places.  She has determination like none other."  :)

The end of the story?  She went to bed without supper that night because she was so tired (though I did give her a sippy of milk).  The next morning, I informed her she had to eat banana before she got anything else.  Finally, a little after 9:00, she gave in and ate her banana.

Then at lunch, she again got some banana.  This time, she ate it without complaint.

SUCCESS.
